Lot 3 Worksplates (Steam): Vulcan, 4874, 1943 (90529).
A worksplate, VULCAN FOUNDRY, 4874, 1943, from a War Department Austerity 2-8-0 built to Ministry of Supply order in June 1943, WD No 77058. Loaned new to the LMS it returned to the WD in December 1944 and was loaned to the GWR in January 1947. Taken into BR stock as No 90529 and allocated to Oxford, its later sheds were Southall, Carmarthen, Llanelly, Ebbw Junction, Mexborough, Barrow Hill and Langwith Junction from where it was withdrawn in November 1965 and sold for scrap to Drapers at Hull. A Great Northern Railway lamp case with copper plate, STOW PARK BUFFER STOP, and an embossed brass plate, Gt NORTHERN & Gt EASTERN JOINT RAILWAY No 199. Complete with its interior, plated STOW PARK, the lamp case has been repainted, overall height 19". A shedplate 75A Brighton (1950 to June 1964). This ex LBSCR shed had a 1950s allocation of around 75 locos, most notable being the Brighton Atlantics and a large number of the Schools 4-4-0s. A BR(NE) totem sign, MOORTHORPE & SOUTH KIRKBY, (f/f), with black edge lettering. The station was renamed Moorthorpe in 1961 and the totems replaced. It is situated on the York to Sheffield route north of Bolton on Dearne. A South African Railways cabside numberplate, 1735, from a 3ft 6ins gauge Class 14 4-8-2 built by Robert Stephenson & Co, Works No 3634, in 1915. The class were given new boilers in the 1930s and re-classified as Class 14R. All were withdrawn by 1983. Cast brass, 20¾"x14½", the front repainted. Taken over by the NCB in 1947 and renumbered NCB 21. Transferred in February 1960 to Shaw Cross Colliery, Ossett, where it was scrapped at some time between March 1965 and August 1966. A nameplate, ROYAL FUSILIER, from the LMS Class 7P Royal Scot 4-6-0 No 6111, BR 46111, built by the North British Locomotive Co, Works No 23606, in 1927 and named by April 1928 after the London based regiment. Allocated new to Rugby in September 1927, its later sheds included Camden, Longsight, Edge Hill, Willesden and finally Annesley on the Great Central from where it was withdrawn on 27 September 1963 and cut up at Crewe Works by 11 October 1963. 48½" long, the front repainted. £6000-9000 - Sold for £10,200 to bidder number 3392

Lot 54 Cabside Numberplates: 3767.
A GWR cabside numberplate 3767 from a 8750 Class 0-6-0PT built at Swindon in April 1938. A long time Brecon engine, one of an allocation of only eleven, until it lost its 89B code in 1959 when its locos were divided between Oswestry and, in this case, Ebbw Junction. Withdrawn from Ebbw Junction on 1 October 1965, it was sold for scrap to T.H. Jones at Newport on 9 November 1965. Cast iron, the front repainted. £250-400 - Sold for £560 to bidder number 612

Lot 55 Worksplates (Steam): NBL 25112, 1943 (90205).
A worksplate, NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE CO, 25112, 1943, from a War Department Austerity 2-8-0 built to Ministry of Supply order in November 1943, WD No 77241. Its early history is uncertain but it is known to have worked at Cairnryan before going overseas and also worked on the Longmoor Military Railway before being loaned to the GWR in April 1947 and taken into BR stock as No 90205. It spent its final years at Bury from where it was withdrawn in March 1964 and sold for scrap to Looms at Spondon. Following the closure of the Ashbourne route in 1963 the section from Parsley Hay to Hartington was retained until 1967, worked as a short branch from the C&HP line. Lot 80 Smokeboxes: 5605.
A smokebox numberplate, 5605, from a GWR 5600 Class 0-6-2T built at Swindon in January 1925. Allocated to Cardiff Cathays by January 1948, it spent most of its BR days at Merthyr before moving towards the end to Abercynon, Rhymney, Tyseley and Croes Newydd from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 21 May 1966 and taken for scrap by Cashmores at Great Bridge on 9 November 1966.
