| Lot 3 | Worksplates (Steam)Vulcan, 4874, 1943 (90529)A worksplate, VULCAN FOUNDRY, 4874, 1943, from a War Department Austerity 2-8-0 built to Ministry of Supply order in June 1943, WD No 77058. Loaned new to the LMS it returned to the WD in December 1944 and was loaned to the GWR in January 1947. Taken into BR stock as No 90529 and allocated to Oxford, its later sheds were Southall, Carmarthen, Llanelly, Ebbw Junction, Mexborough, Barrow Hill and Langwith Junction from where it was withdrawn in November 1965 and sold for scrap to Drapers at Hull. Cast brass, 9¾"x5¾", in ex loco condition. £150-300 |
