Signal Box Nameboards
Swinton, NER
A North Eastern Railway signal box nameboard, SWINTON. The crossing was situated between Malton and Amotherby on the route to Gilling and Pilmoor, the eastern part of the line closing to passengers in 1930 and freight in 1964. Enamel, 23"x7", with the manufacturer's name, Patent Enamel Co Ltd B'ham, at the base. Excellent colour and shine, a chip repair at the top centre fixing, otherwise lovely condition. Displayed on a chamfered backboard of the correct proportions to those original used. Overall 25¼"x8¼". £500-800
