Cabside Numberplates

SNCF, 141.R.546
A French Railways cabside numberplate, S.N.C.F. 141.R.546, from a standard gauge Class 141.R 2-8-2 built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works at Philadelphia, Works No 72359, one of a large batch built by this American company between 1945 and 1947 and used all over the French railway network until 1974. Cast brass, 22"x14½", the front repainted. £250-400
 This lot sold for £540 to bidder number 400.
