| Lot 80 | Worksplates (Steam)LMS Built Derby 1943 (45488)A worksplate, LMS BUILT DERBY 1943, from a LMS Class 5MT 4-6-0 No 5488 allocated new to Polmadie on 17 November 1943, becoming BR 45488. Always a Scottish based engine, its later sheds were Motherwell, Perth, Grangemouth and Corkerhill from where it was withdrawn on 29 November 1966 and sold for scrap to Motherwell Machinery & Scrap at Wishaw. Cast brass, 10½"x6", the front repainted, a little wasting at the bolt holes. £100-200 |
