R.A.F. Badge, BB Class
A Southern Railway Battle of Britain Class enamel badge depicting the Royal Air Force eagle crest. These badges were displayed with the nameplates of engines named after RAF stations, aircraft types, commands and WWII leaders who did not possess a family coat-of-arms. Enamel in brass surround, overall 27¾"x21½", the back curved to fit the streamlined casing, excellent colour with the usual loss of shine on such crests carried for years on the loco, the original fixing bolts in the back. £8000-12000 |
