| Lot 57 | Cabside Numberplates4277A GWR cabside numberplate 4277 from a 4200 Class 2-8-0T built at Swindon in April 1929. Allocated to Duffryn Yard by January 1948 and later Severn Tunnel Junction, Ebbw Junction and Aberbeeg from where it was withdrawn on 8 June 1964 and sold for scrap to Woodham Bros at Barry. It was purchased privately for preservation in 1986 and acquired in 2008 by the Dartmouth Steam Railway where it is currently awaiting overhaul. Cast brass, repainted, the beading stamped Engine Class T 2.8.0 D, Boiler Class DG. £500-800 |
