Nameplates
Conqueror
A nameplate, CONQUEROR, from the LMS Class 6P Jubilee 4-6-0 No 5701 built at Crewe, entering traffic on 24 April 1936 and named after the Royal Navy battleship (1911-22), becoming BR 45701. It spent all its working life at Newton Heath from where it was withdrawn on 23 February 1963 and cut up at Crewe Works the following month. Cast brass, length 28¾", the front in well polished condition, the back in ex loco condition with one punch mark indicating that the plate was carried on the left-hand side of the locomotive. £5800-7000
