Salisbury
A nameplate SALISBURY from Hudswell Clarke 1069 of 1914, a standard gauge 0-6-0 side tank new to Sir John Jackson for the construction of Bulford and Larkhill camps, Wiltshire for the War Department. On completion of the contract in 1916 it was sold to the War Department for use on the Larkhill Military Railway. In 1918 it moved to the Woolmer Military Railway, Hampshire. Sold in 1928 to Fountain & Burnley Ltd, North Gawber Colliery, Yorkshire West Riding. Became NCB property in 1947 and transferred to Woolley Colliery, Darton in September 1962. Scrapped on site April/May 1966. Cast brass, length 37½", the front repainted, the lettering and rim unpolished. £500-800
