Nameplates
King Leodegrance
A nameplate, KING LEODEGRANCE, from a BR Standard Class 5 4-6-0 No 73118 built at Doncaster in December 1955 and named on 28 February 1960 after the father of King Arthur's wife Queen Guinevere in Arthurian legend, a re-use of the name but not the nameplates of the King Arthur Class engine No 30739 withdrawn in May 1957. Allocated new on 1 December 1955 to Nine Elms where it spent most of its working life apart from spells at Eastleigh and Guildford from where it was withdrawn on 9 July 1967 and sold for scrap to Cashmores at Newport. Cast brass, length 52¼", the front repainted. £4500-6000
