| Lot 53 | Smokeboxes45429A smokebox numberplate, 45429, from a LMS Class 5 4-6-0 No 5429 built by Armstrong Whitworth, Works No 1484, in 1937, becoming BR 45429. Allocated new to Bushbury on 2 November 1937, it was a much travelled engine, its sheds including Carlisle Kingmoor, Rugby, Holyhead and Chester from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 7 August 1965 and sold for scrap to Birds Commercial Motors at Morriston. Ex loco condition. £300-500 |
