An East African Railways nameplate, MOUNT MGAHINGA, 11400Ft, from an EAR Class 59 4-8-2+2-8-4 Garratt No 5909 built by Beyer Peacock, Works No 7640, in 1955, the Class just surviving into 1980. Cast brass, 58"x9½" long with a vertical crack. The nameplate is accompanied by its matching brass cabside and front numberplates 5909 and EAR tender letters, the numberplates, 27½"x9" and 20"x6½", the tender letters 8¾" high, all plates in ex loco condition.
