NBL 24684 1941 (48253)
A worksplate, NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE COMPANY, 24684, 1941, from a Stanier type 8F 2-8-0 built to Ministry of Supply order by NBL for the War Department, WD No 376. Shipped new to Persian Railways in August 1941, their No 41.156, it was renumbered 70376 on returning to the UK and became BR 48253 in 1948. Its sheds included Bidston, Llandudno Junction, Mold Junction and Lostock Hall from where it was withdrawn in August 1968 and sold for scrap to Wards at Beighton, Sheffield. Cast brass, diameter 7¾", the front cleaned. £150-300
