| Lot 35 | Smokeboxes90492A smokebox numberplate, 90492, from a War Department Austerity 2-8-0 built to Ministry of Supply order by Vulcan Foundry, Works No 5108, in August 1944, WD No 78707. Loaned to the LNER in December 1945 and purchased by them in December 1946, their No 3171, becoming BR 90492. Its BR sheds were Colwick, Annesley, Immingham, Langwith Junction and finally back to Colwick from where it was withdrawn on 17 October 1965 and sold for scrap to Drapers at Hull. Ex loco condition. £350-500 |
