| Lot 212 | A smokebox numberplate, 60065, from A1/A3 Class 4-6-2 KNIGHT OF THISTLE. Delivered from North British Locomotive Co's Hyde Park works in August 1924, Works No 23102, to Haymarket and originally named Knight of THE Thistle. It spent its BR days carrying this curly 6 numberplate based at King's Cross, Grantham, Doncaster and finally New England where it was withdrawn on 28 June 1964. Still adorned with this plate it was towed to King's of Norwich and cut up by March 1965. The front repainted. £4000-5000 |
