| Lot 468 | A South African Railways cabside numberplate 1539 from a 3ft 6ins gauge Class 12A 4-8-2 built by the North British Locomotive Co, Works No 21757, in 1919. The Class was the first design to originate from the SAR after its formation and was designed for goods traffic, mainly coal trains. All were withdrawn during the 1980s. Cast brass, 20¼"x14", in ex loco condition. £300-500 |
