A Mutoscope (or What The Butler Saw) machine as once seen at seaside piers in Victorian and Edwardian times. The cast iron body and detachable display frame stand 76" high. A brass plate lists patents 1895-1900, property of American Mutoscope & Biograph Co, New York. The machine, which is in working order, is electrically lit and takes a 6d coin. It is operated by winding a brass handle to view dancing girls through a glass aperture. When the top display, with its replacement card advert, is removed the height is 55". £3000-4000
