| Lot 250 | A GWR cabside numberplate, 7253, from a 7200 Class 2-8-2T, the last of the Class rebuilt at Swindon in December 1939 from an earlier 4200 Class 2-8-0T No 4245 built in March 1916. A long time Ebbw Junction engine, it moved in 1963 to Llanelly and later Aberdare and Severn Tunnel Junction from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 1 May 1965 and sold for scrap to Birds Commercial Motors at Risca on 2 June 1965. Cast iron, cleaned and the front repainted. £350-500 |
