| Lot 371 | A South African Railways cabside numberplate, 1974, 15BR, from a 3ft 6ins gauge Class 15B 4-8-2 built by the Montreal Locomotive Works, Works No 61427, in 1920. When new standard 2A boilers were subsequently fitted they were classified 15BR. Mainly worked on the Cape Midlands system but latterly moved to Cape Town and all were withdrawn by 1976. Cast brass, 20¾"x14½", the front repainted. £300-500 |
