| Lot 348 | A worksplate, VULCAN 618(6), IN ASSOCIATION WITH ROBERT STEPHENSON AND HAWTHORNS, 7448, 1952, from a metre gauge 2-8-2 built for East African Railways & Harbours, their Class 26 No 2611. It became part of East African Railways in 1969 and Kenya Railways in January 1978, still as 2611, and was subsequently withdrawn. Cast brass, 9¾"x5", the front repainted. There are three areas of damage probably caused by shrapnel; one affects the last digit of the Vulcan works number. £250-400 |
