| Lot 311 | A worksplate, GREAT CENTRAL RAILWAY, GORTON WORKS, 1903, from a GCR Class 9K 4-4-2T No 171 built in May 1903. It became LNER C13 Class No 5171 and was renumbered 7412 in 1946, becoming BR 67412. Allocated to Gorton by January 1948, it moved in December 1952 on loan to Wrexham GC from where it was withdrawn on 2 July 1954 and cut up at Doncaster Works. Cast brass, 6¾"x4½", cleaned and the front repainted, the back marked 5171 and 67412. £300-500 |
