| Lot 108 | A smokebox numberplate, 48437, from a Stanier LMS type 2-8-0 built to Railway Executive Committee order by the GWR at Swindon in 1944. Allocated new to Chester WR on 3 May 1944, it later spent ten years at Rugby and a final eight years at Stockport from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 30 March 1968 and despatched for scrap to Cashmores at Great Bridge on 20 June 1968. Repainted. £300-500 |
