| Lot 413 | A worksplate GEC TRACTION LIMITED 5439 of 1977, from one of a batch of seven standard gauge 0-4-0 diesel-electric locomotives ordered by the British Steel Corporation, Scunthorpe Works, Lincolnshire for use on the Blast Furnace Highline system. The order was placed with GEC Traction Ltd, who subcontracted construction to Baguley-Drewry Ltd of Burton-on-Trent. This plate is from the sixth locomotive in the batch, GECT 5439 and Baguley-Drewry 3739, originally numbered 6. The works is currently owned by Tata Steel Europe and this locomotive is still on site. Cast aluminium, 10¼"x4½", the front repainted. £100-200 |
