| Lot 497 | A smokebox numberplate, 48276, from a Stanier type War Department 2-8-0 built to Ministry of Supply order by the North British Locomotive Co, Works No 24782, in June 1942, WD No 563. Loaned new to the LMS in July 1942 and allocated to Toton, it returned to the WD in July 1943 and was taken into LMS stock the following December as LMS 8276 and allocated to Holbeck, becoming BR 48276. Its later sheds were Stourton, Low Moor, Mirfield, Wakefield and Royston from where it was withdrawn on 4 November 1967 and despatched for scrap to Cashmores at Great Bridge, entering their yard on 11 April 1968.
