Great Central Railwayana Auction Sale 221, Auction Lot 73
Lot 73 A worksplate, KITSON, 5470, 1933, from a standard gauge 0-6-0ST named COLWYN new to Lloyds Ironstone Co Ltd at Corby Quarries in March 1933 as their No 45. The Company became Stewarts & Lloyds Minerals Ltd in November 1949 and part of the British Steel Corporation in March 1970. The loco moved to Storefield Quarries in February 1969, still as No 45, but having lost its name. It was moved to Glendon East in June 1971 for loading for the North Norfolk Railway where it worked at Sheringham. It was sold in 1985 and arrived at the Northampton & Lamport Railway in July 1985 and is currently undergoing restoration at Pitsford & Brampton station. Cast brass, 12¾"x8", the front repainted. £500-800
