| Lot 43 | Smokeboxes90478A smokebox numberplate, 90478, from a War Department Austerity 2-8-0 built by Vulcan Foundry, Works No 5080, in June 1944 to Ministry of Supply order, WD No 78679. Loaned to the LNER in December 1945 and purchased by them in December 1946, their O7 Class No 3157, becoming BR 90478. Its BR sheds included Hull Springhead, Goole, Hull Dairycoates and West Hartlepool from where it was withdrawn on 9 September 1967 and sold for scrap to Hughes Bolckow at Blyth. Repainted. £250-400 |
