| Lot 28 | Loco and Rolling StockPair of Bulleid Tavern Car ChairsA pair of chairs from a Bulleid Tavern Car with original brown moquette, each with a hand grip recess to the rear, a small rack to the base for briefcase or handbag and the woodwork branded SR. Bulleid designed the Tavern Cars as faux English pubs, complete with a traditional pub sign and exterior painted brickwork. (see Bulleids SR Steam Passenger Stock, David Gould, Oakwood Press 1980). The chairs are rare examples and are in good, usable condition with minor wear at the top corners. Overall height 34¼". (2) £250-400 |
