Locos built at Crewe in 1938 were LMS Class 3 2-6-2T Nos 196-209 which became BR 40196-209, Class 5 4-6-0 Nos 5452-71 which became BR 45452-71, Class 8F 2-8-0 Nos 8096/7 which became BR 48096/7 and Class 8P Coronation 4-6-2 Nos 6225-34 which became 46225-34 and comprised all ten Duchesses. Cast brass, 10½"x6", the LMS initials removed (8108 stamped, probably referring to (4)8108, an engine recorded as built in 1939). The front repainted. £100-200 |
