A worksplate, ANDREW BARCLAY, 1741, 1921, from a 3ft 9½in gauge 0-4-0ST new in June 1921 to British Portland Cement Manufacturers Ltd, Johnson’s Branch works, Greenhithe, Kent, named GOLIATH. Rebuilt by Andrew Barclay in 1927 and converted to standard gauge and continued to work at Johnson’s Branch until transferred to Wouldham Works, Essex in April 1960. Scrapped on site there by W. Rice of Slades Green, Kent around July 1961. Cast brass, 16¾"x11¾", the front repainted. £150-300 |
