A wagonplate, TO TRAVEL BETWEEN CADBURY'S, BOURNVILLE AND SHEFFIELD DEPOT, IN CASE OF BREAKDOWN WIRE LIFFORD, the back with similar wording but CARDIFF DEPOT LM&SR. During the second world war part of the Bournville factory was used for the production of pilot's seats for fighter aircraft. It is thought that this plate is from a goods van used to transport supplies to sites assembling aircraft. Cast brass, 9" square, original condition. £150-300 |
