| Lot 477 | A worksplate, JOHN FOWLER, 4000007, from a standard gauge 0-4-0 diesel-mechanical locomotive new in 1947 to Weir Housing Corporation Ltd, Coatbridge, Lanarkshire. Later purchased by machinery dealers Abelson (Engineers) Ltd, of Sheldon, Birmingham and resold in September 1953 to C.C. Wakefield & Co Ltd, Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. This company later became part of Castrol Ltd. Subsequently preserved and currently located at the Yeovil Railway Centre, Somerset. Cast brass, 12"x8", the front repainted. £80-120 |
