| Lot 400 | A South African Railways locomotive numberplate, E1174, from a 3ft 6ins gauge Class 6E main line electric loco, one of 82 built by Union Carriage & Wagon Co in 1970. In about 1997 it unofficially exchanged identities with E1223 of the same class after it was one of eight chosen for working the Blue Train but E1223 was deemed to be in better condition. Most were withdrawn by 2015. Cast brass, 20½"x14½", in ex loco condition. £150-300 |
