A nameplate, ARMADA, from the LMS Class 6P Jubilee 4-6-0 No 5679, BR 45679, built at Crewe and new to Crewe North in December 1935. Named in June 1937, taking its name from the defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588. Its later sheds included Preston, Derby, Millhouses, Kingmoor and Newton Heath from where it was withdrawn in December 1962 and cut up at Darlington Works. 28¾" long, the front of the plate has been repainted. £6000-8000 |
