A worksplate, YORKSHIRE ENGINE Co, 2440, 1948, from a standard gauge 0-6-0ST delivered new in April 1949 to Samuel Fox & Co Ltd at Stocksbridge Ironworks, Yorkshire West Riding, as their No 4. Sold in late 1959 to the National Coal Board for use at Snowdown Colliery, Nonington, Kent where it became No 11. Transferred to Betteshanger Colliery, Kent in May 1963 and scrapped there around April 1969. Cast brass, 11"x6", the front repainted. £100-200 |
