A worksplate, LMS BUILT ST ROLLOX 1916, from a Caledonian Railway 113 Class 4-4-0. Those recorded as built at St Rollox in 1916 were numbered between 113 and 124 and became LMS 14461-6 and BR 54461-6. This plate is marked 54469 on the back which was one of a batch built by the North British Locomotive Co, Works No 21444, in 1916, CR 930, becoming LMS 14469 and BR 54469. Allocated to Perth by January 1935 and later Corkerhill, Greenock Ladyburn and Polmadie, returning in June 1944 to Perth where it remained until withdrawal on 5 November 1959. It was cut up at Kilmarnock Works. Cast brass, 10½"x6", the front repainted. £200-350 |
