A worksplate, LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY, 2126, 1902, from a North Eastern Railway Class P1, LNER J25 Class, 0-6-0 No 2126 built at Gateshead in May 1902. It was one of forty of the class loaned to the GWR during the Second World War to replace their Dean Goods 0-6-0s taken over by the War Department, this loco loaned in March 1940 and returned to the LNER in August 1946 whereupon it was renumbered 5715 and withdrawn from Stockton on 14 March 1949 without having received its allotted BR No 65715. Cast brass, 9"x5", the front repainted. £350-500 |
