A locomotive rebuild plate, SOUTHERN RAILWAY, ASHINGTON COAL COMPANY LTD, STROUDLEY, No 163, BUILT 1891, REBUILT 1946, LINTON COLLIERY No 4, from a former London Brighton & South Coast Railway E Class 0-6-0T No 163 built at Brighton in December 1892 and named Southwick, becoming SR 2163. It was withdrawn in May 1932, put up for sale and sold the same month to the Ashington Coal Co Ltd in Northumberland, becoming their No 4. It worked at the Company's Linton Colliery and, after rebuilding at the repair shed there in 1946, continued to give long and arduous service before being broken up in October 1954.
