A nameplate, BAHAMAS, from a LMS Class 6P Jubilee 4-6-0 No 5596 built by the North British Locomotive Co, Works No 24154, in January 1935 and named on 8 June 1936 after a crown colony in the West Indies. Allocated new to Crewe North on 26 December 1934, it became BR 45596 and its BR sheds were Edge Hill Carlisle Upperby and Stockport from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 23 July 1966. It was purchased for preservation direct from BR by the Bahamas Locomotive Society in 1967 and currently resides in running order at the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway. Cast brass, length 28¾", the front repainted. (Note: In preservation the loco is fitted with replica nameplates) £8000-10000 |
