| Lot 287 | A South African Railways cabside numberplate, 2574, GO, from a 3ft 6ins gauge Class GO 4-8-2+2-8-4 Garratt built by Henschel, Works No 28707, in 1954. A smaller version of the Class GMA Garratts, the GOs were much less successful and all were withdrawn by 1975. Cast brass, 20¾"x14½", cleaned and the front repainted, a service knock by the right-hand bolt hole. £400-600 |
