A nameplate CHERITON, from Class 319 319008 power car 71779. Named at Victoria station in March 1994 to commemorate this unit being the first train carrying passengers through the Channel Tunnel on 10th December 1993. After the naming ceremony this unit along with 319009 ran non stop to Brighton in 37mins 57s, a new record. Plates were removed in September 2007 and reinstated in March 2012. The other plate is with the National Railway Museum in York. Ex loco condition. Cast aluminium, 19½"x5", ex loco condition. £500-800 |
