A GWR cabside numberplate, 6835, from a GWR 6800 Grange Class 4-6-0 built at Swindon in September 1937 and named EASTHAM GRANGE after a country house near Tenbury Wells in Worcestershire. Allocated to Banbury by January 1948 and later Leamington, Chester, Penzance, Oxley and a lengthy spell at St Philips Marsh from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 11 May 1963 and cut up at Swindon Works. Cast brass, the front repainted. The plate is accompanied by two photographs and Bill Peto's loco history. £1000-1500 |
