| Lot 223 | A worksplate, NEILSON & Co, 4477, 1892, from a 3ft 6ins gauge Cape Government Railways 4-6-0 No 717 which, after the formation of South African Railways in 1910, became their Class 7 No 987. The class were goods engines and many were still in use until the late 1960s on branch line work. They were finally withdrawn by 1972. Cast brass, 9½"x5¾", cleaned and the front repainted. £150-300 |
