A worksplate, NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE CO, 25293, 1943, from a War Department Austerity 2-8-0 built to Ministry of Supply order in January 1944, WD No 77423. Loaned new to the SR and allocated to Bricklayers Arms, it returned to the WD the following November, was loaned to the LNER in March 1946 and purchased by them the following November as Class O7 No 3038, becoming BR 63038 and 90038. Allocated initially to Aberdeen Ferryhill and St Margarets, it moved in 1953 to Colwick from where it was withdrawn on 1 August 1965 and sold for scrap to Arnott Young at Parkgate & Rawmarsh. Cast white brass, 13¾"x5½", the front repainted. £150-300 |
