A nameplate, CAERNARVON, from a LMS Patriot Class 6P 4-6-0 No 5992 built at Crewe and allocated new to Holbeck on 27 September 1932. Renumbered 5515 in 1934, it was named in 15 January 1939 after the town in North Wales and became BR 45515. Its BR sheds were Preston, Edge Hill and Newton Heath from where it was withdrawn on 8 June 1962 and cut up at Crewe Works. Cast brass, 34½" long, the front repainted. £7000-9000 |
