A worksplate, BEYER PEACOCK, REBUILT, 1920, from a South Eastern & Chatham Railway E Class 4-4-0 No 166 built at Ashford in July 1907, becoming SR 1166. In December 1920 it was re-boilered, the rebuilding referred to on the plate, and became BR 31166. Allocated to Bricklayers Arms by January 1948 and later Ramsgate, Faversham and Tonbridge from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 21 May 1955 and cut up at Ashford Works in the week ending 23 July 1955. Cast brass, 10"x5¾", the front repainted, the back stamped 1166. £200-350 |
