A smokebox numberplate, 7818, from a GWR 7800 Manor Class 4-6-0 built at Swindon in January 1939 and named GRANVILLE MANOR after a 16th Century country house at Haddenham, Buckinghamshire, known locally as Grenville Manor. Allocated to Gloucester by January 1948 and later Oxley, Tyseley, Newton Abbot and Machynlleth with a final two years back at Tyseley from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 23 January 1965 and taken for scrap by Cashmores at Great Bridge on 5 April 1965. Repainted. £600-900 |
