A GWR cabside numberplate, 5945, from a GWR 4900 Hall Class 4-6-0 built at Swindon in March 1935 and named LECKHAMPTON HALL after the country house on the outskirts of Cheltenham which was demolished in about 1958. Allocated to Oxley by January 1948, its later sheds included Old Oak Common, Swindon, Southall and Oxford from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 30 March 1963 and cut up at Swindon Works in the four weeks ending 7 September 1963. Cast brass, the front repainted. £900-1200 |
