A worksplate HUDSWELL, CLARKE, 1696 of 1939. From a standard gauge 0-4-0ST which went new to the Royal Arsenal, Woolwich, London. Named BEATTY. Sold late 1957 to E. L. Pitt Ltd, dealers, Brackley, Northamptonshire. Resold in January 1958 to the Oxfordshire Ironstone Co Ltd. for use at their Wroxton quarries near Banbury, where it was named JEAN. Sold for scrap to George Cohen Sons & Co Ltd, Cransley, Northamptonshire in September 1965. Engraved brass, 13"x8", in ex loco condition. £150-300 |
