A nameplate, ULSTER, from a LMS Jubilee Class 6P 4-6-0 No 5739 built at Crewe and named when built on 9 December 1936 after the Irish Province, becoming BR 45739. Allocated new to Crewe North, it spent most of its LMS days at Camden and almost all its BR days at Holbeck before moving in June 1964 to Wakefield from where it was withdrawn on 4 January 1967 and cut up by Drapers at Hull in the week ending 24 June 1967. Cast brass, length 28¾", the front repainted. £6000-8000 |
