A brass drum bulkhead clock, dial lettered Thomas Armstrong & Bother, Manchester. Inscribed at the bottom or the bezel. ‘Property of The Windermere Travelling Club’ This was the Clock from the Manchester Club Saloon which travelled from Windermere LNWR Station to Manchester Exchange & return. Manchester businessmen living in Windermere considered 1st class not good enough & thus formed their own travelling club with their own private saloon. In working order with winding key & bezel lock keys. A unique & important item. £500-800 |
